WDS Ultra
   

WDS® Pad is a microporous insulation material with an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity.

WDS® Pad consists of inorganic oxides. The main component is fumed silica, the others are opacifiers for minimizing infrared radiation, and silicates.

Maximum application temperature of 1000 °C.

Tried and tested applications for WDS® Pad include insulation for Ceran® ceramic stove tops and electric grills, especially in glass ceramic grills.

Application
WDS® Pad moulded parts fulfill important functions:

  • the heating element carrier improves the efficiency of the radiant heater due to their excellent thermal insulation characteristics.
  • very suitable for the attachment of heating conductors,due to the special hardening process.

In its application WDS® Pad fulfills several functions such as:
WDS Ultra Thermal Conductivity of 0.040 W/mK at 800ºC  
  • Precisely controlled energy emissions
  • No elimination of volatile compounds (Except for absorbed water)
  • Low space requirement, and therefore low installation height
  • Mechanically suitable anchoring of the heater to the surface of the hardened WDS® Pad
  • Environmentally and physiologically harmless material
